Homemade Brown Rice Crackers

These homemade brown rice crackers are really easy to make and super duper delicious. Of course, they are also very nutritious for the entire family. My toddler loves these, and so does daddy! They are great with some homemade hummus, salsa or guacamole. Doubling the batch is definitely recommended!



Makes approximately 35 [1.5”] crackers


1/2 cup brown rice flour*

1/2 cup whole almonds*, ground into flour (or use 3/4 cup almond flour)

2 tbsp ground flaxseeds (or chia seeds)

2 tbsp hemp seeds (or sesame seeds)

1 tbsp nutritional yeast

1 tsp dried rosemary

1/2 tsp Himalayan salt (or Celtic sea salt)

1/2 tsp dried thyme

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/4 cup water

1/2 tsp extra virgin olive oil



Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a high-speed blender or processor, grind almonds into a flour. Do not over process as it could turn into almond butter! Sift flour through a strainer to remove larger pieces (or you can use store-bought almond flour).

In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients together. Add wet ingredients and stir with a spoon. Knead the dough with your hands until it comes together. Shape into a ball.

Place the ball of dough on the parchment paper or a non-stick mat. Roll out the dough until it’s about 1/8th inch thick, or as thin as you can get it without ripping. With a pastry wheel, pizza slicer or knife, slice into crackers.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 18-20 minutes, or until slightly golden brown. Cool on a baking sheet for 10 min. Store in an air-tight container.

*Note: You can substitute other flours, but just keep in mind that the taste and texture might change. I’ve made these crackers with quinoa flour in place of the almond flour, and they were divine!
