Maple Glazed Nuts
Jan 15, 2013Although I love raw nuts, sometimes I get a little bored of them. This is a delightful little snack. Satisfy your sweet tooth with mineral rich maple syrup and get through that mid-afternoon hunger pang with plant-based protein.
Ingredients
2 cups mixed nuts (pecans, walnuts, cashews, almonds and sunflower seeds is my favourite combo!)
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1 tsp. coconut flour sugar (optional; makes it less sticky)
1/8 tsp. Himalayan salt
1 tsp. virgin coconut oil (optional)
Directions
Preheat a dry skillet over a medium-high heat. Add the nuts, maple syrup, virgin coconut oil and salt. Cook, stirring frequently, until syrup is caramelized and nuts are slightly toasted, about 3 minutes. Add the coconut flour sugar and mix. Let cool.
