Raw Cacao Balls

These whole food energy balls are a fantastic snack to have before or after a hard workout. You can even bring a few of them on your run instead of a processed protein or energy bar.

Ingredients:

1 cup raw almonds (or shredded coconut or oats)

12 plump medjole dates, pits removed

¼ cup organic raw cacao powder (or ground cacao sticks locally in the Caribbean)

1 tsp natural vanilla extract

Hempseeds or dried coconut to roll them in (optional)

 

Directions:

Put all the ingredients into your food processor. If you double up the recipe, then you will need to make them in batches. After mixture has been made into little balls, roll in hempseeds in desired. Store in the refrigerator or freezer if you prefer them chilled. Makes a great snack to bring along with you!
